HELLO!: Mel B reveals date for Spice Girls big comeback performance

By Ainhoa Barcelona/Hello!

Exciting news for Spice Girls fans! Mel B has exclusively revealed to HELLO! that the five ladies WILL be taking to the stage for their first comeback performance – and it will be this September. "The deal is done and all five of us are very much looking forward to taking to the stage again," Mel B told us as we caught up with her at HELLO!'s 30th birthday party at Dover Street Marker.

Mel B, aka Scary Spice, met up with former bandmates Emma Bunton and Geri Horner at a London hotel the day after our party. Presumably, the trio are making headway with their big comeback plans.

Last week, rumours intensified that the Spice Girls will perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding reception when Mel shared a throwback photo of the pop group. "Can't wait to see my girls next week yipppeeee #girlpower #friendshipneverends #90s," she captioned the snap.

The post came three months after the five girls – Mel B, Geri, Emma, Victoria Beckham and Mel C – reunited at Geri's house, some 24 years after the band launched. It's not yet known whether the pop group are reuniting for a one-off performance in September, or whether they'll commit to a string of concerts.

Back in March, Mel C clarified to HELLO! magazine: "We're back together in the sense that we're back with the same management that we had in the nineties, Mr Simon Fuller. We're talking about opportunities for the future. There aren't any plans for us to be performing live any time soon, but there are lots of other things."

Opening up about their friendship, Mel C added: "Like with all groups of friends, especially being so busy, and people living in different places, I'll see Emma and then I'll see Emma and Geri, and then I'll see Victoria. It is so difficult to get all five of us together because everyone has families and careers and all of those things, so that's what made it so special to get together a few weeks ago."

Lyrics: Geri Halliwell - Angels In Chains

Angels In Chains

Songwriter: Geri Halliwell
Producer: Chris Porter

Lyrics:

Every young gun has their fun
The brightest star burns half as long
Who knows why the good die young?
I wonder where you've gone
Could've been gone tomorrow
Could've walked through the sorrow
But you left us singing

Heal the pain (ooh)
We're all in angels in chains (ooh)
Looking back the aftermath, still burning from the fame
We say goodbye, it's time to heal the pain

George your faith will never end (you gotta have faith)
Father figure, brother, friend (understand me)
Little boy dying to belong I wonder where you've gone
The world can be cold and cruel
A gentleman but not a fool
Left us singing

Heal the pain (ooh)
We're all angels in chains (ooh)
Looking back the aftermath, still burning from the fame
We say goodbye, to a star tonight, it's time to heal

Something you came to teach us
Is love will always reach us in the end

Heal the pain (heal the pain)
We're all angels in chains (angels in chains)
You're not to blame (heal the pain)
We're all angels in chains (ooh)
Looking back the fun we had
It's freedom that you gave (freedom)
Say goodbye, you're a star tonight
It's time to heal the pain

THE SUN: Mel B wants to return to X Factor and could move back to the UK after 15 years in Los Angeles

Mel B previously appeared as an X Factor judge in 2014

By Lauren Clark/The Sun

Mel B has revealed she may move back to the UK after 15 years in Los Angeles as she admitted she would "love" to return to the X Factor.

The Leeds-born singer, 42, hinted about a possible return to her roots if the offer to the go back on the hit show as a judge arose.

In an interview with Mirror Online, the mum of three admitted she wouldn't be against moving back to British soil for work. The star added: "I mean I come back here so often for work, my base is LA and my kids go to school in LA so I've been there for most of [Phoenix's] childhood, 15 years."

She said: "I love doing X Factor and I love the UK so if that opportunity came up and I had time to do it, then yeah. Mel B was speaking at the NatWest British LGBT Awards last night, which she hosted alongside Duncan James from Blue.

She previously appeared as a judge on the ITV show in 2014, alongside Simon Cowell, Cheryl and Louis Walsh, and temporarily filled in for Nicole Scherzinger in 2016. She was pictured posing on the red carpet with her 19-year-old daughter Phoenix Chi.

Her eldest child was the spitting image of her in a white mini-dress with sheer detailing and white heels. The former Spice Girl looked sensational in a multi-coloured mini-dress that accentuated her tiny waist and long legs.

Mel finished off her look with a pair of yellow stilettos and wore her her hair slicked back. It comes just days after Mel B met up with Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton, reportedly for "reunion talks".

Revealing that the trio met up for summery cocktails, Emma remained tight-lipped when fans begged to know what they'd been discussing. Shortly before that she told fans she'd be meeting up with her former bandmates while in London - but it appears it was tea for three, as selfies shared by Emma Bunton showed only Mel, Emma and Geri.

Emma captioned the pic: "Naughty but nice!!! #FriendshipNeverEnds #SpiceGirls."
