STEP INSIDE foi o único single promocional lançado para promover HOT. É um single promocional pouco conhecido e muito raro. Foi lançado no pacote oficial de singles no Natal de 2000, junto de WEEKEND LOVE, das Spice Girls, e outras músicas de artistas da Virgin Records. O single não possui capa, e a edição da faixa é exatamente a mesma do álbum. STEP INSIDE foi co-escrita e produzida por Max Beesley, namorado da Mel B durante o lançamento de HOT.

" No outono de '99, as Spice Girls publicaram nosso quarto livro, FOREVER SPICE, uma coleção de fotos feitas por Dean Freeman, o fotógrafo que trabalhou conosco na turnê. Eu convidei Max (Beesley) para o lançamento do livro, na Imagination Gallery, em Londres. 'Eu escrevi uma música pra você', ele disse assim que nos vimos. 'Posso mandar ela pra você?' Ele mandou a faixa para o Spice Office e esperou. Uma semana depois Nancy ligou para Max e contou que gostei de STEP INSIDE, o nome da música. Ele imediatamente sugeriu datas para gravação. TODAY foi o primeiro single lançado do segundo álbum de Melanie B, L.A. STATE OF MIND. Lançado em 13 de junho de 2005, foi uma surpresa, considerando que Melanie tinha dito que nunca voltaria para música. A canção recebeu pouca execução nos rádios e TV, a promoção consistiu em uma tour promocional de duas semanas no Reino Unido antes de Melanie voltar para Los Angeles. O sucesso não foi um problema para ela, que viu o lançamento de TODAY e do álbum como um presente para os fãs, não para dissecação crítica. TODAY alcançou a posição #41, vendendo 3.700 exemplares.

LULLABY foi o quarto e último single lançado a partir de HOT. Este single foi promovido adequadamente e teve um belo vídeo com a filha Melanie B, Phoenix Chi. Quando foi lançado em 4 de junho de 2001, alcançou #13 e, em seguida caiu muito rapidamente, somente permanecendo no Top40 durante duas semanas. LULLABY foi considerado um "agora ou nunca" para Melanie B. Se LULLABY fosse sucesso, HOTTER (um lançamento planejado) seria lançado e a carreira solo da cantora estaria mais estável. LULLABY vendeu mais de 38.200 cópias no Reino Unido.

"Phoenix estava comigo no Marrocos quando eu filmei o vídeo para meu terceiro single, LULLABY, a música que eu escrevi para ela (com o Biff), quando ela era um bebê. FEELS SO GOOD foi o terceiro single lançado do álbum HOT. Este single foi bem promovido, e tinha um bom vídeo. O single estava previsto para ser lançado em 11 de dezembro de 2000, mas Melanie necessitava de uma pausa depois de promover HOT e os novos lançamentos Spice Girls, e também não era a melhor época para lançar o single, assim a Virgin adiou a libertação em dois meses. Lançado em 19 de fevereiro de 2001, o single alcançou #5 nas paradas inglesas, vendendo 55.000 cópias em sua primeira semana (um número muito elevado para uma posição #5), vendendo 139.100 cópias no total - sendo muito chocante, o 80° best-seller de 2001. FEELS SO GOOD ajudou HOT voltar para o #95 na parada de álbuns do Reino Unido em Fevereiro de 2001, mas esta foi, infelizmente, a única vez que o álbum re-entrou na parada.

TELL ME foi o segundo single lançado (se contar I WANT YOU BACK) do álbum de estreia de Melanie B, HOT. O single foi lançado duas semanas antes do álbum, foi bem promovido e teve um bom vídeo, como resultado disso, quando lançado em 25 de setembro de 2000, o single foi #4 na parada britânica, com cerca de 40.000 vendas em sua primeira semana. Houve muita controvérsia sobre a canção, com letras fortes como "e tudo que você amava, era o dinheiro da Mel B", obviamente dirigidas ao ex-marido Jimmy Gulzar. No total, TELL ME vendeu respeitavelmente 106.500 cópias, e foi o 158º best-seller de 2000. Um curiosidade interessante: na parada isolada de R&B do Reino Unido, o single estreou em #1.

"Em março (2000) eu voei para LA para gravar mais três músicas com Rodney (Jerkins). A última música que escrevemos juntos (Fred, LaShawn, Rodney e eu) foi a que eu escolhi como o primeiro single do álbum, TELL ME. A faixa fala por ela mesma." (Melanie B)

WORD UP foi o sengundo single solo da Melanie B, um cover do hit de 1980 do Cameo. Lançado em 28 de junho de 1999, o single alcançou a #14 nas paradas britânicas, em parte resultado da baixa promoção, o single também estava na trilha sonora de "Austin Powers 2", o que aumentou a exposição mundial da música. Além disso, na semana de estreia, as vendas dos últimos três dias não foram contadas para todos os singles por causa de um problema técnico, mas apenas em fevereiro 2015, foi revelado que na verdade, WORD UP estreou na 13ª posição.

WORD UP vendeu quase 77.000 cópias no Reino Unido, que foi a menor venda de um lançamento relacionado com as Spice Girls na década de 1990, talvez com um vídeo melhor, ele poderia ter conseguido mais destaque. Uma curiosidade é que WORD UP foi o único lançamento de Mel com o nome "Melanie G". Pouco depois do lançamento do single, ela deixou seu marido Jimmy Gulzar, e voltou a usar o "B".

Os videoclipes

WORD UP recebeu dois videoclipes. O primeiro foi dirigido por Matthew Rolston com Mel vestindo um traje futurista dentro de uma espaçonave. Essa versão inclui a participação do ator Verne Troyer representando seu personagem no filme Austin Powers, o Mini-Mim.

Uma outra versão do clipe é em quase sua totalidade em animação gráfica, com direção do ex-marido de Mel na época, Jimmy Gulzar, e o estúdio Wiz.

Lançado em 14 de setembro de 1998, o single alcançou o #1 no dia do último show da turnê mundial das Spice Girls e vendeu cerca de 80.000 cópias em sua primeira semana. O single chegou a vender 222.800 cópias e foi o 82º best-seller de 1998. I WANT YOU BACK não foi lançado nos EUA, embora o single tenha entrado na trilha sonora do filme "Why Do Fools Fall In Love?". Mas um CD promocional foi lançado nas rádios norte americanas para promover a trilha sonora. No entanto, não houve sucesso nas paradas dos EUA.

O vídeo da canção teve as participações de Missy Elliott e Jimmy Gulzar, bailarino das Spice Girls do qual Melanie B se casou um dia antes do lançamento do single. Dirigido por Hype Williams, o vídeo traz uma atmosfera futurística em quase sua totalidade apenas utilizando as cores verde, branco e preto, além de seis trocas de figurino, maquiagens e penteados. O clipe concorreu ao BRIT Awards '99 na categoria "Melhor Vídeo Britânico", mas perdeu o prêmio para MILLENNIUM do cantor Robbie Williams.

O único single do projeto foi TODAY, e para promover, Mel ficou duas semanas no Reino Unido, mas foi uma divulgação fraca. Melanie, que atualmente reside em Los Angeles não foi para o país na semana do lançamento do single, que conseguiu a 41ª posição, tornando-o o single de menos sucesso nas paradas e vendas de uma Spice Girl, até então. HOT é o álbum solo de estréia da Melanie B. O álbum foi lançado em 9 de outubro de 2000, menos de um mês antes do lançamento de FOREVER, o terceiro álbum das Spice Girls, o que é citado como o principal motivo de HOT não ter sido bem sucedido: os fãs estavam mais interessados no álbum de retorno das Spice Girls ao invés de estréia de Melanie B. O Almighty, responsável por vários remixes famosos da Geri, lançou essa coletânea com seis mixes, incluindo um megamix exclusivo. O CD-R faz parte de uma promoção de Natal no site oficial do Almighty. Entre os singles já lançados, podemos conferir dois remixes de 100% PURE LOVE, faixa que seria incluida no álbum PASSION, mas ficou de fora. Esse CD-R, junto do CD ALMIGHTY SHOWREEL 2005, são as únicas fontes oficiais de conseguir essa música. Porém, ela é facilmente encontrada em várias versões em sites de download.
